The C68 Rim Brake is a carbon road bike with rim brakes. It is the latest model in the C series.

The C68 Rim Brake shares the design and geometry of the C68 Road, but differs in its braking system: traditional rim brakes.

As part of the C68 family, the C68 Rim Brake is also a modular frame, entirely made in Italy, and hand-assembled in Cambiago using the artisanal process of the C series.

The bicycles of the C68 family are built with a modular structure, which is the core of the project and represents its excellence. Bonding the various parts of the frame, rather than assembling them in a mold as with monocoque frames, is a unique feature. This characteristic allows us to fully customize the frame, even for very small production batches. The rim brake version is possible thanks to this modularity.

In terms of design, previous C-series frames had simple straight tubes and joints. The C68 has parts made from both tubes and joints together because we no longer need as many joints to achieve the same construction goal.

There are still some visible joints on the C68 (like the upper head tube and seat clamp area) to stay true to our roots, while other joints are now invisible (like the rear triangle, down tube area, and top tube).

Structurally, there are some important differences compared to its predecessor, the C64: the bottom bracket, now with the T47 standard, is fused with the seat tube, while the top tube features two pieces/joints: one connected to the seat tube and the other to the head tube.

These elements are integrated into the carbon frame version.

The effect? The frame is stiffer, especially in the steering area, for greater precision while riding.

The refinement process has also allowed for optimization of some parts of the frame, including the fork, which is now stiffer and lighter than before, with an innovative internal cable routing system. Thanks to the shape of the new head tube, it can be built without the current, more complex D shape.

To maintain continuity in terms of spare parts and ease of production, the seatpost shape is identical to that of the C64 and V3R. Finally, a new option allows the front derailleur mount to be removed for use with single-chainring groupsets.

T47 Bottom Bracket

The C68 is equipped with a T47 Pressfit bottom bracket, rigid, secure, and adaptable.

Colnago first introduced an oversized threaded bottom bracket eight years ago with the C60, of which the T47 is ultimately a derivative. Called Threadfit 82.5, it featured an 82.5 mm wide threaded shell and 45 mm cups, which initially was just a shell to be used with a common Pressfit solution but soon became a true threaded system with third-party solutions like CeramicSpeed, Tripeak, and other compatible systems.

Shortly after, the T47 was born, a Pressfit shell size that mirrored our solution with a slightly larger diameter (45 mm vs. 47 mm), and Colnago decided to adopt the T47 on future frames for the happiness of customers and shops.

CeramicSpeed SLT Headset with Lifetime Warranty

The C68 Rim Brake is equipped with a CeramicSpeed SLT (Solid Lubrication Technology) headset, guaranteed for life, simplifying maintenance and reducing long-term costs.

The headset consists of two identical bearings that use SLT technology. This means that Colnago and CeramicSpeed can offer a lifetime warranty on the bearings because there is no way to damage the balls inside thanks to the solid lubrication system. Replacing the bearings on a fully integrated cable bike typically requires at least 1h30 of work from an experienced mechanic, plus the replacement of parts.

Handlebar Compatibility

The Colnago C68 Rim Brake has been designed to be compatible with CC.01 Regular handlebars (but not CC.01 Wide).

As is traditional for Colnago, to ensure maximum compatibility for every type of rider, the option to fit any 31.8 diameter handlebar using the Deda Superbox or Colnago SR10 stem is guaranteed.

Finally, compatibility with the integrated Deda Alanera handlebar is also guaranteed.

Don't buy this brand Olev. Watches last for one month, return window is one month.
Color: Gold and Silver Band White Face, Color: Gold and Silver Band White Face
I want a refund!!! A little over a month of owning this product and it's broken. Really cheap craftsmanship and the return window is only for one month. Please don't buy from this brand Olev. I would assume they know that they're product isn't any good if the return window is only one month.

Almost the perfect watch
Color: Black/Blue
I have owned three earlier models of these things going back to the days when I actually ran road races. They are brilliant pieces of work. My only complaint of them was that the start/stop/split button(s)--there were two on the older models--were too small. Well, apparently Timex listens and the two small buttons are now combined into one larger one. Probably this was done years ago but I'm only now getting back into road work, so now I get to discover it. The perfect watch? Almost. I especially like this model as my eyes are not what they used to be and the oversized face makes it easier to read. The downside to this is that it also makes the crystal easier to scratch. That's always been an issue, but I can live with it. No, the real problem with this product is, was, and apparently ever shall be, the band. Now, it could be worse, it could be a resin band (like the old ones) that will crack and break within a couple of years, but no, this is a nylon and velcro wrap style which should be just dandy, but for three glitches: 1. it's too short 2. it's too narrow (gee whiz, Timex designers, it's an oversized watch, why not a matching oversized band?) and 3. it's still resin where it attaches to the actual watch. Now, I imagine it's probably less prone to breakage in how it's implemented, but if you should choose to replace it, I can see no obvious way of removing it short of cutting it off. Really? But these are minor complaints. I doubt it would be comfortable on anyone whose wrists are much bigger than my own, but replacement bands are everywhere, and this watch will keep time with style and it's brilliant at splits. Heck, it even functions admirably as a backup for my expensive stopwatches at our regular short track stock car events. For my money (and did I mention the price is wonderful?) the Ironman is still the best at what it does, and for what it can do.

Good hard use watch.
Color: Black/Silver-Tone
Review Calibration: 3 stars means it works as advertised, nothing special during use, and no amazing features. Higher stars mean better-than-expected performance and features. This is 5 stars because it is my favorite work/hard-use watch. I have been wearing one for years, and like all Timex watches, it can take a beating. I have to replace it when the band's ears get so damaged that they won't hold the band on. This has more to do with the plastic's lifespan than with a design issue. I am hard on watches. This watch normally lasts ne 7-10 years between replacements.
